I am always open to trying new foods, at least once.  I mean how else are you to know if you like or dislike something, right?  What would life be like if you only ate at McDonald’s everyday – One SUPERSIZED Happy Meal!  No Thanks….enjoy the two most recent alternative delicacies I have indulged myself in….along with a few of my favorites.

On a more divine note, try the braised rabbit (Open-Faced Ravioli, Pancetta, Sugar Snap Peas, Baby Carrots, Rainbow Chard, Rabbit Consommé) at Cork in Chandler, it is absolutely fabulous! If you like duck, a suggestion would be the roasted duck on bok choy at Thai Elephant in Tempe, the Chef was in awe that I requested his favorite.  Finally, never – ever pass up sushi!  Yes, I even subject Lil Boo to some of the ‘finer’ foods (no escargot or chicken feet – that’s my insanity).

Nothing beats a good old fashioned Sunday morning nose cleaning, I suppose this is what I deserve after a #daddyfail last night.  Little one’s forgive easily, though they do not forget.  Sometimes we hit highs and lows in life.  It is up to us to decide what we feel is worth the high points and how to turn around those low points.  Times are changing, cheers for hearing my rant off yesterday, I know it wasn’t all light hearted in a Peas and Bananas fun loving feeling sort of way.

Gabe Watson Arizona Cardinals - Daddy Bookins Peas and Bananas

How ironic is this, just the other week during a Monday Mingle I called out my dislike for sports.  This past weekend at a birthday party for one of Lil Boo’s friends, Gabe Watson from the Arizona Cardinals was present.  Let it be known that this Daddy-O is taller than Gabe, and that is all I have on him – as the photo does not do me justice.

Gabe was a pure delight, especially during the photo op, I was quite blunt.

Gabe, I have to tell you something….I don’t know who you are, who you play for, what you actually do in football….I don’t even watch football!  -  daddy bookins

As he almost hit the ground in uncontrollable laughter….he thought it was pretty cool I was just honest.  After that, our conversation never tackled football.  Yes, seriously there is more to life than football, and Gabe is proof of it!  Cheers MM (you know who you are) for introducing me, heck I might even start watching football now……nah no way…..sorry Gabe you along with the rest of the Cardinals Defensive Line may have to drag me to the stadium.  Cheers for the laughs! (I warned you I would post this on the blog and twitter)

A Very Protective Humming Bird

This little protective humming bird attacked me yesterday as lil boo was out for a bike ride in our front yard.  Funny…it’s February in Arizona and the rest of the country is snowed in.  Lil Boo was able to experience something new in nature by playing outdoors!

Isn’t that sweet?!  The Mrs. made eggs, bacon, and toast.  The toast had a heart cut out in the center for the egg and then topped Tapatio (aka the Bleeding Heart!)
