This was a classic episode of how I really just do not care about what people think of me, when spending time with lil boo nor any other time for that matter.
The other day lil boo and I went to Fresh and Easy (a supermarket by the good guys at Tesco) to pick up some flowers for the mrs and other ‘goodies’ for the following morning (coffee/pastries - you know the things that matter in the morning along with those wonderful flowers!!). Lil Boo out of the blue started singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star while strolling up and down the aisles. I could not resist myself, when lil boo asked me to sing with him. Why of course I will!! Gladly doing so, together Daddy Bookins and Lil Boo were strolling up and down the aisles singing to their hearts content, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. Talk about a GREAT time!! Laughing and singing being goofy together, two peas in a pod.
The down side to this…some people just do not get it, the eyes from other shoppers, you know that eyeing look you get from those that think you are ‘beneath’ them or something is wrong with you, how dare you do that here. Guess what folks….blow it out your super-sized anus! I had a blast with my lil boo, just because you are to anal to enjoy the finer points of life - bugger off! :o)
To all the dads out there, SING AWAY with your lil ones and have fun!! People need to lighten up and realize life is to short to not enjoy the pure delightment a little boy gets when singing.
BTW…the mrs loved the flowers her lil boo picked out all by himself!

Don’t you just love it when they fling blueberry yogurt all around the house??? What a nice mess to clean up! Title, Carpet, Walls and places unseen. Let’s not forget the aftermath of ANTS!!! Have a great evening!

Lil Boo has loved his oatmeal over the past well two years. Typically we have stayed with the instant oatmeal (gerber, etc), just at water (in our case, soy milk) with mushed up bananas. Now that the weather is changing the oatmeal crave is returning. For lunch lil boo asked for Oatmeal. Well, in our pantry was the ever so yummy Monkey Brains Oatmeal (Blueberry). He inhaled two packets mixed with vanilla soy milk and a banana with cranberries on the side. Can you tell he enjoys fruit??
Monkey brains is organic, packed with antioxidants, fiber and protein. Not to mention it is delicious and has no artificial colors or flavors. Which is cool, because when you mix the oatmeal up it changes color. I give monkey brains the daddy bookins and lil bookins approval (we are two oatmeal eating freaks).

Then there were 5 (five) in the great pumpkin patch. All different sizes, shapes, colors, it is almost pumpkin picking time. This will be the last update until harvesting time this weekend!!! Lil Boo is very excited! He loves pumpkins. Everywhere we go he notices pumpkins. Thanks for the photos Granda! You and your crew of pumpkin patch gnome workers had a great year!

If you have been following over the past year or so, you would have noticed that Lil Boo loves YouTube, and not just any ol YouTube video will do for him. They must be unique! From the likes of Mean Kitty, Pigloo, Numa Numa, Titou and Bebe Lilly we now have an all new favorite blockbuster hit! With over 29 million views and a Weezer video comes Tay Zonday and Chocolate Rain. All the rest of have been tossed away like yesterdays left overs, along with a temper tantrum if you offer anything else but Chocolate Rain. Lil Boo even sings along with Tay the YouTube phenom. You have to check this guys voice out! Hope you enjoy, lil boo sure does.

This afternoon was a great time for lil boo and myself. We dug up the garden for the mrs. so she can prep for her zen/budda/yingyang garden. (not sure what she will put in there just yet) Presently, the garden is being guarded by the watchful eye of the gnome brothers. What are they watching? Rocks and dirt.
What did we do? Well, first we ripped out all the drip system, then we dug up some odd looking plants/weeds. After that was all done we raked out the rocks (lots of them) and then took the pick to the whole thing and raked it all back over. The first of many attempts to make the soil somewhat prep-able.
Where does the, ‘boys will be boys’ come into play. Lil Boo was just absolutely adorable out there helping me! Pulling out the old drip system, doing who knows what to it, but asking everytime he found a new piece, ‘what’s this daddy?’. Then he helped pull weeds out and tossed them into the trash. Err I mean old plants…no wait strike that - WEEDS! Now for rock time, lil boo loves rocks, even better, lil boo loves rocks and fountains! Off they go, one after the other into the fountain. I could not stop him, he had this determination to put as many rocks as he could into the water to hear, ‘plop’ ‘plop’ with a giggle. The best time we had was after all the rocks were gone, watching lil boo play with the tilted soil. Clumps of hard soil, being smashed by the lil great hands of bookins. Watch me daddy, I do it right daddy, look at this daddy over and over again….he was having a blast. As I was raking the soil over, I glanced at lil boo sitting on the side of the garden throwing dirt all over his head, shirt, pants, shoes. He was in little boy heaven, getting dirty and no one would stop him. Did I mention he had a BLAST!!
After all was said and done, lil boo went running over to the table to get some chips and salsa, such a daring lil fella, he loves his chips and salsa. This is how we spent our Monday afternoon - having fun, getting dirty, and being boys oh yes and not to forget waving at all the small planes that flew overhead. Lil Boo informed me he wants to go on an airplane. That will be a GREAT time!!

After long discussions and a wide range of suggestions, we tackled one and guess what - we won! The dreaded attempt had to be done by ourselves there was no if ands or buttttttts about it. Mrs. went to the store and picked up one of those hair trimmers with all the different lengths, numbers, colors, etc. I tested it out yesterday and my victim was of course lil bookins himself. It took some work but I was able to manage a somewhat decent haircut!!! The only real negative part was around the ears and back on the neck. Lil Boo spoke adamantly that he did not like that, but was alright with the rest of it. 15 minutes later, lil boo hair covered daddy bookins and lil boo, but well worth it. Not too mention after all was said and done, someone *cough* *cough* was admiring himself in the mirror!! Task accomplished!! Now if we could only get potty training out of the way….perhaps someday.

The colors are changing and the pumpkins are GROWING! Looks like Granda was up early this morning, I wonder if he can hear the pumpkins getting restless as that time of year is almost upon us?!
Thanks Granda for the great photos!!

Have you ever noticed the difference in sounds from a Saturday morning to a Sunday Morning. It seems as if everyone and their mother is out and about, mowing lawns, trimming with the weedwackers, blowing leaves, cutting up something, cleaning up, children running around screaming/yelling/playing, cars being washed, radios blaring and then we hit Sunday Morning.
Sunday morning is ever so quiet. Is everyone exhausted from Saturday’s activities? I do believe so. It is quite a difference. Just one of those things you notice, living in suburbia or as I tend to call it, life on the grid. Enjoy your weekend!
